This is a (poor-quality cell phone recorded) snippet from the SXSW interview between Al Gore and Sean Parker (Napster founder dude, played by Timberlake as the early FB investor).  They’re discussing something that I think everyone is finally starting to actually think about: how social media is affecting not only foreign governments in the Middle East, but also our own government.  While the dialogue is definitely somewhat vague, the overarching theme of their conversation seems to be about how social media can work to fix the conflicts between big money and actual citizens’ representation (i.e. Citizens United).  This article from Scott Rosenberg, the editor of Grist.org who was actually present for the talk itself, extrapolates nicely on the issue and draws attention to the internetrepreneurial spirit that is starting to really critically examine these issues.
